When playing Caribbean Stud, it always helps to know the probabilities of being dealt a certain hand from a fresh deck of cards. That also counts for knowing what the probabilities are for other players and especially the dealer to be dealt as well. A Royal Flush is not ranked the highest winning hand for nothing. It has only 4 possible ways to be made and the odds of being dealt one are 1 in 649,740. A straight flush has 36 possible ways to be made and the odds are 1 in 72,193 of being dealt one. Four of a Kind looks a better bet with 624 ways to be made and odds of 1 in 4,165 of getting one. A Full House has 3,744 ways of being made and carries odds of 1 in 694. A flush has 5,108 ways to be made and odds of 1 in 509 of being dealt to you. A Straight can have 10,200 ways to be made and the odds of being dealt one are 1 in 254.8 Three of a Kind can be made 54,912 ways and you have a 1 in 47.32 chance of being dealt one. Two Pair can be made one of 123,552 ways and has odds of being dealt this hand of 1 in 21.03. A Pair can be made from 1,098,240 combinations and has odds of 1 in 2.36. A no pair hand can come your way one of 1,302,540 ways and you have 1 in 1.99 odds of getting one. Well, nobody said it would be easy, but when you are aware of the statistical probabilities, at least you know what you are up against. |
