How to Play Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is played with one deck of cards and can be enjoyed in a casino or online in a virtual playing environment. In Caribbean Stud, the player competes against the dealer’s hand. Players make the opening bet called the ante. After the dealer deals out 5 cards, players must decide on either:

• Placing a bet on the play mark that is equal to the ante amount and continuing the game
• Folding and then withdrawing from the round, forfeiting the ante wager

An exciting option is the chance to participate in the progressive jackpot. With traditional or online Caribbean Stud, players can win part or all of the jackpot with a:

* Royal Flush
* Straight Flush
* Four-of-a-Kind
* Full House
* Flush

Once the players have made their decisions, the dealer opens his cards. The dealer’s hand must have an Ace-King or better to make the cut and in order to challenge the players’ hands. If not, the dealer folds and ante wagers are paid.

• If the dealer’s hand makes the grade, however, then the players’ cards are compared against the dealer’s. When the dealer’s hand is more favorable, the player loses the ante and the play wager.
• If the player’s hand makes the grade and tops the dealer’s, the dealer must pay the player for both the ante and the play wagers.
