How to Play Keno

Keno is a game that is similar to Bingo or Lotto. Chinese immigrants introduced the game into the US when they came to work in mining and railroading jobs. Keno utilizes a bubble that contains ping-pong-type balls that include numbers that range from 1-80. Air is pushed into the bubble, which mixes the balls. Then a lever opens a tube so that balls can lift into another tube called rabbit ears. The 20 balls that are drawn are recorded. Wagers are placed and outcome is determined by the balls that are drawn.
Placing a Wager
A player places a wager by marking an “X” on a Keno form that includes 80 numbered choices. In Keno, “X marks the spot.”
After all the players have placed a wager by marking the spot, the casino draws 20 balls.
Players are paid depending on how many drawn numbers correspond to the numbers marked on the Keno ticket. Pay is determined by the pay rate set by the casino. Each casino has its own paytables and these vary from casino to casino.
