She received the agreed sum from the African Palace Casino for the first two months, totalling R2.8 million but the payment for April did not manifest. So far, she has not heard anything else from the company that operates the gambling site and fears that the instalment due this month is also going to be defaulted on.

She said that she is a frequent gambler and has won several times in the past at online casinos, but she has never had her winnings paid in instalments. She tried to force the company to pay by threatening to expose them publicly, for which a lawyer’s letter was sent to her. It said that some workable solution could be found without any need for airing grievances publicly.

The finance manager of the African Palace Casino, Tagore Dhanraj has refused to comment, saying only that the company is attempting to bring about a resolution.
