Should the first hole card dealt be exposed, the result is a misdeal. In this case, the dealer retrieves the card, reshuffles and re-cuts the deck. Should any other hole card become exposed because of dealer error, the deal simply continues but the exposed card cannot be kept. On completion of the deal, the dealer replaces the exposed card with the deck’s top card and the exposed card becomes the burn card. Should more than one hole card become exposed, a misdeal is called and there must be a complete re-deal.
Should the flop contain too many cards, it must be re-dealt with no exceptions.
Should the flop require re-dealing due to the cards being flopped prematurely before completion of the betting, or if the flop had too many cards, then the board cards are mixed up with the rest of the remaining deck. The burn card must remain on the table. The dealer cuts the deck after shuffling. Without burning a card, he then deals a completely new flop.
If the fourth card on the board is turned by the dealer before completion of the betting round, the offending card gets taken out of play for that round. This happens even if subsequent players fold. The round of betting is then completed normally. The card that would have been the fifth, occupying the fourth card’s place is burned and turned by the dealer. Following this round of bets, the deck is reshuffled including the card taken out of play. However the burn cards or discards are not included in the reshuffle. The dealer cuts the deck, followed by turning the final card but without burning a card.
In a case of the fifth card becoming turned up prematurely, the deck is reshuffled and dealt again as in the previous point.
Should the first player be mistakenly be dealt an extra card (after all other players are dealt their starting hands), the extra card is returned to the deck as the burn card.
Should the dealer deal more than one extra card by mistake, a misdeal results.
Before you discard your cards you must declare you are playing the board. If not, you relinquish any claim you may have had to the pot.
