Hi, just wanted to drop in and point out that an alarming number of parents have no idea what their kids are getting up to while they're online. That includes gambling at online casinos by stealing your credit card and pretending to be you while racking up some serious losses that you will have to pay for. Be safe and make sure your credit cards are safe and you have installed safe surfing software on your kids laptops to keep them away from gambling sites until they're old enough to make their own choices.

I have no idea what they are doing, and to be perfectly honest, I don't care. Does that sound a little hard and callous? Well, not really considering they are over 18 and live with my ex and her bloke, so if they are ripping off his credit cards, I say good luck to them, ha! |

Hehehe cool answer dude! If I had and kids, there is no way I'd be stupid enough to let them anywhere close to my credit cards. This guy needs to be "concerned" about more important stuff, like are your kids really using the Internet to hack into some government agency or something...

So like some kids are streetwise enough to steal daddy's credit card and get some action online, while stacking up a huge debt for daddy who can't pay it back! So like who's fault is that? Daddy for not looking after his Visa card? Daddy for not bringing his kids up to respect other people's property? Or the kids who are grown up enough to know how to play blackjack and how to spend money that don't belong to them but not old enough that they can be blamed for it? Hot can of worms you opened there, man.

Hey, this sounds like something that folks oughta be concerned over. What are the chances of a responsible adult leaving their credit card laying around? Pretty good, I believe! |

When I was a kid, if I'd taken my old man's wallet he would have taken his belt off to me and to be honest, I would have deserved it. Modern parents are pretty soft with their kids so they think they can do what they like and they can't be touched. Well, if some kid takes his old man's wallet these days and the guy does nothing about it, well, I reckon he deserves all he gets.

Whatever became of responsible parenting? When I was young and I wanted money for something, I had to work for it getting up early 7 days a week to do a paper round (that's delivering newspapers to people's door if you aren't a Brit!). Now if kids want money to gamble online, they just steal their parent's credit card and go on a wild spend up. Crazy!

Hey Chelsea, I guess we're from a more innocent age where the Internet did not exist and neither did personal computers or cell phones. I don't think my parents even owned a credit card! Like, we managed ok without these things!

Ooh, kids get up to all sorts online that their parents haven't a clue about. A lot of it is down the fact that many parents are totally hapless at understanding what the Internet is all about, despite all the media exposuer, and simply don't realise what its capabilities are. But I have to say, you still need to keep your plastic well and truly locked away from their grubby little fingers, never mind they might gamble it all away, they can also order a load of stuff on Amazon and you'll never know until a truckload of gadgets turns up at your door!

Even in my home country, some teenagers steal credit cards from parents to buy stupid things. Also they access online casinos and use credit cards to make bets. You write about how bad this is, but in reality, there are very few actual cases of this happening relative to the number of people who gamble online and have access to Internet. It is similar to blaming huge numbers of any sector of the populace for acts that are perpetrated by so few in reality. It is perspective that is flawed in creating panic amongst people by using all forms of media by writing about a subject such as this in sensationalizing way. But in fact the truth is very small and not so sensational.

Actually, I know what my kids are doing right now. They're cramming for college exams and are sensible enough to know that wasting time online in any pursuit is counterproductive to getting the results they want. Most kids are decent, level headed and can be trusted, unlike the negatively stereotyped ones the author of this thread portrays.

This is just so much sensationalization. Very few kids would dare to take their parents credit card let alone have the balls to use it to get into an online casino.
