Hey all, here's something that'll most likely get to your very core. How many of you drink while you're betting online? And by that I mean alcoholic drinks, so coffee and coke don't count! If you do, does it improve your game of make you sloppy? |

Dude, oh man, you are kidding me right? You wanna drink alcohol and play blackjack, man you might as well open an account and just pay the money straight to the casino!
You start drinking and have a bankroll sitting there, that bankroll is gonna dry up faster than you can say Kahnawake... that's if you can say it! Coke and coffee are the ones cause caffeine enhances concentration, which is what you need in huge abundance when you're tryin to win money, not throw it away!

I quite agree with you Zit, alcohol and gambling do not make good bedfellows! It makes you wreckless and that's not good especially if you start losing and you're tempted to bet wildly to make amends. I stick to coffee as coke is too fattening and I don't want to end up looking like a beached whale! |

Hell, yeah! Man, I love a cold beer or three when I'm playing slots. Its a cool way to get into the games and get some adrenalin pumpin know what I'm saying! Don't need too much thinking juice cause I mainly only play simple classic slots, so no brains needed, just money and knowing where to hit the start! |

Ok, I can see the attraction of having a drink or two while gambling online, but I wouldn't do it not cause I might make a mistake but I'd get clumsy with my bets and lose too fast is all. |

Now there's a question I like cause it stirs up a hornets nest alright! Sure, I like to take a drink while I'm gambling but I believe in moderation in all things, so for me it might be a cold beer or two and no more. I want to feel relaxed and chilled enough to enjoy my game, but at the same time, I don't want to be out of control or making stupid bets cause I had one too many. |

I would certainly be excessively worried to even attempt to make a monetary bet with alcohol in my system. Effecting sharp wits and keen judgment are not possible when alcohol is involved, so I must be firm and say that I would never drink whilst gambling. |

Well this is an interesting conversation going on here. Some say they do and some swear they don't so I'm not going to sit on the fence either and admit to having the odd cold beer with my craps ha! Ok, in all seriousness if that's possible amongst a bunch of gamblers, one or two beers doesn't impair my judgment, although more certainly would, which is why I usually stick with just the one and then coke after that. |

Well, well no wonder I see some strange things happening. Personally I don't touch a drop while I'm gambling as I want to keep my wits about me at all times. But in some of the poker games I occasionally sit in on, I see some pretty wild play going on and can only assume the players are complete idiots or they are half drunk (making them complete idiots).

I'm a pretty cool guy when it comes to having a beer with a game of roulette or craps, so I don't sweat it. But I don't cross the line with alcohol cause as some of you guys are saying, it impairs judgment and can make you do crazy bets and cost money, so its a moderation thing with me too. |

Hey, I sure do like a drink while I'm selecting which horses I'm gonna bet on. It mellows me out and I feel less stressed about worrying over choosing the wrong one. I just see what I like and go for it, no trying to second guess myself or any of that stuff. It works for me as long as I don't get loaded. But then that's a real bad thing anyway, I guess. |

Mate, I love a cold one when I'm playing slots but if I'm doing anything where I have to think, then its coke or lemonade for me. |

I'm partial to a glass of wine or beer or maybe something stronger, but at the appropriate time. There's a time and a place for everything, sure and gambling ain't one of them! So no sir, I do not drink while I'm gambling!

I've been known to enjoy the odd cold one from time to time. But when I'm gambling doesn't matter if its online, offline or underline, I never touch a drop as it would certainly affect my judgement and cost me money. |

Well now this sure is an interesting debate going on here. I think I'll throw my 2 cents in the ring don't mind if I do. Drinking in general is a mighty pleasurable thing, without a doubt and those that don't enjoy that little pleasure are surely missing out on a big life experience in my opinion. But I also believe there is a proper time and a proper place for drinking and that's in a bar with friends, not in front of a computer on your own. Sure, it'll affect your judgment, which you need all you can get when you're laying bets, but did you ever think how utterly pitiful it is to drink alone? And alone in front of a computer? Now that ain't my idea of fun at all! |

This looks interesting. So some of you like to drink when you bet and some of you are dead set against it? Well, I guess I have to side with the anti-drink while you bet folks. Can't see the point in risking good money by impairing my judgment with even one drink. As I don't like coke either cause I'm careful about my waistline, its just coffee for me!

Me? Naw, I don't drink while I'm busy playing Russian Roulette with my money in any online casinos, cause I want to be totally alert and not make any stupid mistakes that could cost me some of that money! |

[New Kid 01-11-2009 05:16:37]: Me? Naw, I don't drink while I'm busy playing Russian Roulette with my money in any online casinos, cause I want to be totally alert and not make any stupid mistakes that could cost me some of that money! I have to agree with you on that point. Drinking alcohol and gambling might feel like a good mix, but if you want to win money instead of throwing it away needlessly, I say stick to tea or coffee. Someone mentioned not drinking coke because of all the extra calories - I heard that Diet Coke has been shown to decrease bone density amongst other bad things, so I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole either! |

Aha, a lively debate going on! Now, drinking in moderation at something like a horse race after I've have placed all my bets is fine, because I've made my decisions and put down my money, so I can't do anything stupid after that and I can enjoy the races with a drink as its now social time. But whilst gambling online, I'm constantly faced with new decisions and for me to maximize my chances, I need a very clear head. So in answer, no way do I drink while I'm gambling!

Personally, I don't see the point in drinking while you're betting, even more especially online. You need your wits about you and even one drink can impair your judgement enough to make you more liable to make a rash decision which could cost you money. So for that reason, among others, I don't!
