Crime didn't pay for this poker cheat
So this guy from Rock Falls, Illinois was playing poker and decided to cheat by palming two chips which he slipped out after betting had finished to increase his payout. Little did he know that his extra $40 payout would land him in real hot water. Get this: Due to his crime, the guy was charged with a felony for prohibited acts in a gambling game. He was convicted after a short trial by jury and sentenced to 2 years of supervised probation after the judge suspended a $750 dollar fine, as well as a 5 year stint in prison. Whoa, guys, do not EVER cheat at poker!

Hawaii may legalize casinos
Thanks for the replies guys. So like you think Hawaii is a cool place to go live if they legalize online gambling? Well, I sure do, although I'm not at all sure what it would take to make the break from the familiar to the exotic! |

Paddy Power want to sponsor the elusive Tiger
Hey everyone, so like Paddy Power is trying to swing a sponsorship deal with Tiger Woods, but word has it that the five year deal on offer with a total potential sponsorship of $75 million has been rejected by IMG. Its funny, but its no big secret that Tiger is in a little trouble on the financial side of things due to several big sponsors pulling out over his very public, ahem... indiscretions! He probably needs a good cash injection and turning down this kind of money sounds pretty foolhardy to me. What do you guys think?

GSA study committee
Hey guys, here's something that may interest you. The international trade organization representing operators, manufacturers and suppliers in the gaming industry, the Gaming Standards Association or GSA, has now created an Internet Gaming Study Committee. The idea behind this is to gain an understanding of the new forms of gaming distribution such as the Internet as well as looking at how it affects its members. It should help identify any problem areas and then figure out how to deal with them. I hope it has some teeth!

Will Paddy Power Leave Ireland?
Proud to be Irish counts for nothing when the tax on Internet gambling is set to rise again. This could wipe a big chunk off their operating profits and make them less competitive with otehr operators who have moved offshore. Britain's William Hill moved to Gibraltar last year and halved their tax burden. If Paddy Power does the same, they will remain competitive, but will cost jobs in their homeland. The government may have to think twice about its intended tax hike, or they could lose out altogether to a foreign treasury. |

Estonia looking to fight illegal online gambling
Hallo, it is becoming difficult for Estonia government to keep out illegal foreign based online casinos from accepting bets from Estonian citizens. They make a list of 200 sites but how they will deal with them is unclear. Perhaps they use censorship, I don't know. If they do this, is bad for Estonia as great amount of money come into the country from advertisement and this will stop if government force ISPs to censor foreign sites. Is good for state licensed Olympic Casino which is based in Estonia and can legally allow its citizens to gamble there. Maybe they make incentives to gamble at Olympic Casino to make it better than gambling at foreign casinos.

Fortune Lounge promotion
Hi everyone, I hear there's a big promotion happening at all of the Fortune Lounge group of casinos, with players loyalty points and casino credits up for grabs. Fortune Room, Platinum Play and Royal Vegas are amongst some of the better known casinos in the group. On 30th march the Ocean's 15 promotion get started with cruise tickets for two up for grabs and a load of nice prizes for those involved. I'll be trying my luck for sure, so if you like a little extra on the side, its worth a look.

Anyone using alternative payment methods?
So, yeah I've been using an online payment site for like ever cause I never trusted anyone with my credit card details anyway. For ebay and stuff I use Paypal and for gambling sites, I use Neteller and they've always been pretty good. Man, credit cards are only ok until the man changes the rules. |

So, if you were given a means to restrict aspects of your gambling, would you? There's a device that can do that which is available right now called Gameplan, manufactured by Nova Scotia-based gaming company, TechLink. You set it up yourself with what limits you want to stick to, and it does it for you. So like if you hit your cash limit for the day, its shuts you down so you don't go over the top. Same with gambling time, so you don't spend more hours gambling than you pre-set it to. Okay, so like its presently aimed at land casinos, but these guys are thinking it can be adapted for online casinos too. So if that happens, would you want to limit yourself with such a device?

New VIP scratchcard game
Hi there, I don't know if any of you are interested in playing scratch cards, but there's a new one just been launched by NeoGames, who make all the best scratch cards (or so they say). This one is only available to VIP Exclusive Club members who are given private access to newly launched games. This is a scratch slot game called Ocean Pearls and has a hidden jackpot of £200,000 (or € or $ depending on where you are). That's definitely worth going for, I reckon! |

Hey everyone, guess this'll be of interest to online poker players and that's 365 Media Group's poker arm, Goldbet has just joined up with Microgaming Poker Network in a 10 year deal. That's good for the online game cause it'll mean more reliable sites to choose from under the Microgaming umbrella for reliability and honesty. At least that's how it seems when you're winning LOL! |

Win a space flight?
Hi there, I just wanted to run this past you. is this the strangest competition prize you ever heard coming from an online gambling site? The Space Race promotion, running on InterCasino.co.uk between 1st March and 30th May gives all players the chance to win a Space Adventures suborbital spaceflight. Its above the 100km limits of the atmosphere where real space begins and while you're up there, the engines cut for 5 minutes while you get some real weightlessness to experience before coming back down again. Sounds like a lot of fun, actually! |

Mastercard seizing casino funds
Hey guys, I just heard that Mastercard have begun seizing funds that are destined for online casinos in their crackdown on online gambling sites. One online casino has already been a victim of this recently with a cache of casino deposits in one account having been seized by Mastercard while the account is under investigation. Sounds like this could turn nasty. Hope you guys are not caught up in any of that!
