Why do folks use Internet cafes to gamble online illegally?
This is a question that's burning a hole in my pocket. If its not illegal to access and play online casinos from your home, but it is if you use an Internet cafe, then why do folks risk arrest by going to Internet cafes and gamble there? I hear of more and more of these Internet cafes getting raided by police who have them under surveillance for being an illegal gambling establishment. It seems to be just plain stupid to me! What do you guys think?

Hey, I hardly think of myself as a wayward soul or a waif and especially not a stray, but despite that, you have a good question there. personally, I don't think it is the illicit nature of illegal online gambling that makes folks use that medium. Its more like its just far more convenient than traveling to a land casino, period! |

Why are Indian tribes afraid of legal online poker?
I read with interest that many US Indian tribes are worried that if all the US states legalize online poker, they will lose a huge amount of money from their land based casinos. I don't see how that can be, because these statistics were published by "Indian Country Today", written by columnist Dave Palermo:- "On average, 80% of casino revenue comes from slot machines with another 15% from table games such as blackjack and mini-baccarat. Poker, a player-banked game, normally generates less than 5% of a casino’s revenue."
Even if online poker players were staying away from land casinos, which they're mostly not, there is still only a tiny percent of the casino's total revenue at stake here and it is really not worth worrying about, from what I can see.

Focus on Who's Family?
So like Focus on the Family, you know that bunch of religious zealots who are campaining hard to stop us having the choice as to whether we want to gamble online or not, well now they are attacking Angelina Jolie for like cutting her kid's hair! Very uncool I might say as I think Angelina is an angel and she does a load of good work around the world. Shame on Focus for being so controlling. Maybe they need to read some George Orwell but like try and understand what the man was saying, not just read the pretty pictures...

Paddy Power want to sponsor the elusive Tiger
I think that Tiger woods agent believes that there is no such thing as bad publicity, there is only publicity. He will regain many big sponsors in spite of his bad behaviour because the media has a short memory. This is bad for Paddy Power because Woods is not so much in need as to feel he has to accept their offer especially of he is waiting for something much bigger and better to come that an association with online gambling may hinder. |

Polish Football Drops Unibet Sponsorship
Hallo everyone, I have some upsetting news from the world of football in Poland. Their anti-gambling legislation that came into force on 1st January caused the Polish Football Association to officially suspend its agreement with Unibet. They were title sponsors of the Polish football league second division. It is a shame to throw that money away for the sake of being tough with online gambling. |

Gunmen Disrupt Berlin EPT
Hey everyone, there was a serious blow to the organizers of the European Poker Tour. A police investigation was launched after an armed robbery during Day 4 of the EPT Berlin event this weekend. Gunmen tried to get away with the tournament prize pool. I haven't heard an update yet, so maybe someone else can fill us in on what happened.

Multiple Bingo cards
Hi everyone, just a quick question for you. Does anyone here play bingo online, and if you do, do you play multiple cards. Its just that I'm sure that I win more when I play with as many cards as I can handle than when I play with only the basic four cards. The stakes are higher, of course, but with multiple cards I seem to get far more win lines come up than I do with four cards and that often keeps me fairly even or even up. Has anyone else come across this?

Why do we do it?
Greetings fellow wayward souls, waifs and strays! I have been thinking to myself that I may be more tempted to be gambling online because it is illegal than I would be if it were not! This has prompted me to ask a question of my compatriots here about the very reasons we do what we do. Could it be that we gamble because of the thrill of experiencing a prohibited activity? Is it the very illegal nature of online gambling that spurs us on to take risks despite the potential consequences? I leave this thought with you, dear friends and await your enlightened responses.

Taiwan gets tough with gambling
Hi everyone. I was just reading how the Taiwanese government is getting really strict over gambling there and have recently arrested 27 people for gambling. There are stories of people being arrested for playing too much Mahjong even when no money was changing hands because they want to stamp out gambling before it even starts! Man, that is pretty tough, especially in this day and age when things are supposed to be getting better with freedom of personal choice and all that. Maybe we're not there yet! |

How addicted to the Internet are you?
Hi everyone! I'm new here and was just wondering how you saw yourself in terms as being addicted to the Internet, not just to online gambling but the whole online thing. Do you feel you are a slave to your computer? Do you feel that you can't get off it when there is still so much more stuff to do online? Do you miss your favorite TV shows because you were so caught up in messaging with friends on Facebook? Do you feel that you need to get a life? So many questions, I know but what do you think? Are you an Internet junkie or what? |

Swansea man in trouble over gambling
Hi everyone, here is a stark reminder that you should keep your gambling well under control lest it ruin your life. A former manager of a Swansea doctor's practice has been jailed after he defrauded the National Health Service out of more than £90,000. The man gambled away the cash on the horses and online betting sites over a 5 year period leaving the surgery where he worked in debt and unable to afford new medical equipment. He said that his gambling had become out of control as he stole to pay for his habit and it has cost him his liberty and labelled him a criminal for the rest of his life. It is so important to limit yourself and your bankroll and only gamble with what you can afford to lose. This chap obviously did not.
