A significant acquisition is being lined up with an affiliated online gambling company by industry leaders Playtech, using a portion of the £112m they raised in a placing in June this year.

The leading gaming industry software provider, who includes PartyGaming and Paddy Power amongst their list of clients, has also announced second quarter revenues of $42.4m (€27m, £21m). This is a rise of 75 percent on the same period the previous year and also up nine percent on the last quarter.

A spokesman for Playtech, who are one of Aim’s leading companies boasting a market capitalisation of an impressive £1.2bn, said a material proportion of their proposed future growth would be generated organically, although a number of well placed acquisitions will accelerate their development significantly. The software company then added that they had now begun due diligence upon the pending acquisition that is a provider of services to a proportion of Playtech’s licensees.

Expected to completed within the next few months is the year’s first half launch of their Asian player to player games, which although a smaller market compared with Europe for Playtech, the revenues generated from Asia has been increasing 93 percent year after year and currently makes up around a fifth of their revenue.

To add to their expansion, Playtech has also signed an exclusive four year agreement with Paramount Pictures digital arm. This will enable its licensees to provide games that feature the film company’s brands Untouchables and Gladiator.

On the gaming scene, Playtech has also announced that their flash poker network will be ready to begin rolling out during the next quarter. July has begin well for the software giants, with an expected five additional new licensees ready to sign up also in the next quarter. This will add to the ten new licensees that have already signed up this year.

With eight memoranda of understanding now signed, including deals with some Italian operators, Playtech said they were making inroads to setting up a position in Italy, as well as establishing a exciting new poker network in that country.

Platytech chief executive Mor Weizer, was confident that the world’s largest publicly traded online software supplier to the gaming industry, would meet all their expectations for 2026 having already recorded a 14.4 percent revenue growth over its monthly averages for the fourth quarter 2026. In January this year, their daily royalties showed growth of 11.7 percent over the fourth quarter 2026 average.
